Jordan Cigre National Committee (JCNC) is one of 56 regional national Associations which emerged from the International Council for Engineering and Large Electric Systems “CIGRE International” which is an international, Non, non-profit organization founded in France in 1921.
CIGRÉ is a worldwide, non-profit association of more than 6,500 professionals in 90 countries engaged in power system engineering for generation, transmission and distribution.
Headquartered in Paris, CIGRÉ brings these professionals together through a variety of symposia and technical conferences around the world.
The Jordan National Association provides several benefits for Jordanian members of CIGRÉ. This includes the possibility of participation in study Associations or working groups, or attending and/or organizing participation conferences.
CIGRE published technical materials such Electra periodical and reports study Associations and working groups as well as conference proceedings are made available to members of JCNC.
The heart of CIGRÉ’s organization is its individual and collective (corporate or institutional) members. In Jordan, these members are supported by the Jordan National Association. CIGRÉ’s activities are governed by a hierarchy of a President, Treasurer, Technical Association Chair and Secretary General. These individuals, along with others appointed by the JCNC, form a Steering Association and an Administrative Council. The Technical Association organizes and conducts CIGRÉ’s technical activities.
